Meet Our Mentors

Chris AshtonHead of the Academy

Chris has 20 year experience in FX sales and trading roles starting at UBS in 1997 and then moving to Barclays in 2006, where he was promoted to Global Head of FX Spot.

He understands the importance of content led marketing to drive client interaction and is passionate about improving the quality of education for individual traders, so they can make better and more informed decisions on a day to day basis.

One of Chris’s major aims for the academy is to demystify financial markets for individual traders.

Maurice PomeryMulti Product Strategy Mentor

Maurice has traded a broad spectrum of asset classes, including equity, bond and FX markets across a successful career spanning over 30 years. As a proprietary trader at UBS and then Dresdner his ideas brought him to the attention of some of the biggest risk takers in the world.

He currently writes a daily strategy update on the financial markets for an enviable list of clients including central banks, hedge funds and other major institutions.

Richard AdcockTechnical Analysis Mentor

Richard Adcock MSTA is an award winning technical analyst who has held key roles with Investment Research of Cambridge Ltd, Credit Lyonnais, HSBC and UBS, where he managed both the rates and FX technical teams.

He specialises in candlestick analysis, combining it with momentum and trending techniques to establish both long and short term trading strategies. He also creates daily technical analysis content for his own retail and institutional clients.

Roger HawesPsychology Mentor

Roger was a spot FX trader and manager for over 37 years. His initial spells at ANZ and Swiss Bank Corporation saw him develop his trading, content and client facing skills. In 1998 he moved to Nat West (latterly RBS) becoming global head of Spot FX in London, New York, Amsterdam, Sydney, and Hong Kong.

He is a big believer in developing and following a trading process to achieve long term success and has delivered talks on trading psychology to numerous retail and institutional audiences.

Katharine LeamanCompliance and Risk Mentor

Katharine is a regulatory compliance consultant with expertise in technical areas of the rules such as Conduct, CASS, the Individual Accountability Regime (SMCR) and Outsourcing. Katharine has worked in financial services for thirty years across insurance, banking, distribution, and regulation.

Her regulatory compliance consultancy practice specialises in providing bespoke and off the shelf practical and proportionate solutions for all sizes and types of FCA and PRA regulated business.

Nick GeachNY Trading Mentor

Nick is a 35 year veteran of financial markets, who spent the first half of his career trading FX at Citibank, RBC, Chemical and then Bank of America. During this time he led various trading teams in the US and Asia before moving across to the hedge fund side as a global macro and FX portfolio manager.

He currently splits his time between managing his own trading portfolio, and delivering seminars on trading strategies and real time market events.

Bronia JenkinsFX Options Mentor

After graduating from MIT, Bronia began her career as an FX options trader at O’Connor. She remained there through several mergers with SBC and then UBS, earning a promotion to Co-Head of FX Options. On leaving UBS she joined Bank of America, becoming Head of FX-North America before taking a “sabbatical” to raise her children.

Bronia recently re-joined the workforce and combines teaching mathematics with running seminars on options trading for clients of all levels of understanding.

David FriendCrypto and FX Trading Mentor

Clare is a former financial derivatives trader who has traded through many market-moving events including the financial crisis of 2008. Her niche is in identifying shifts in sentiment and behaviour, and navigating periods of volatility.

Recognising the potential of blockchain technology, Clare gained the Blockchain Business Strategy qualification from Oxford University in 2019 and has since then concentrated on financial education, focusing particularly on the fields of digital assets and digital privacy.

Clare MackenzieBlockchain and Crypto Mentor

Ritchie LathamOptions and Markets Mentor

Ritchie utilised a Masters Degree in Physics and International Affairs, to achieve a successful career trading FX Options. He worked for many years at Merrill Lynch and then Bank of America, in London, New York and Hong Kong, trading large option portfolios in both G10 and emerging market currencies.

These roles often entailed educating clients, colleagues and a steady stream of graduate trainees in the world of options. He now draws on that experience to provide options master classes for Corellian clients.

John BartonEquity Trading Mentor

John began his career in equity markets at Smith New Court (now Merrill Lynch), rising to Head the Telecom, Media and Tech (TMT) desk, where he traded through the boom and bust of the dot.com era. He subsequently joined Deutsche Bank to lead the TMT desk and manage the banks equity hedge fund relationships, before moving to Barclays to run the Pan- European industrials trading desk. John is an active day trader and provides Corellian clients with invaluable insight into the world of equity strategy and trading.
